The ‘Green Galleria’ is the design proposal for a mall in the high end commercial shopping location of Karachi. The Green Galleria’s design requirement was a redesign for its internal atrium spaces and façade for the under construction mall. The concept for the design of the spaces of the building into ‘tropical-esque abodes’, creating an ambiance of a tropical forest for the users to experience and so in a way bring the outdoor natural environment into the built human environment. The same concept was translated on the main façade of the building. A riveting shadow play is created with the help of illuminating lights that can be used as a back drop for various outdoor activities held by the mall.
